Psychologist, Co-Founder / Director at Bio-Behavioral Institute
What kind of care would you want for a loved one fighting mental illness?
That is the question Dr. Yaryura-Tobias and I asked ourselves when we established the Bio-Behavioral Institute in 1979. Our goal was to develop a cutting edge facility to provide patients with the most up to date treatments available for mental illness.
For over 30 years, we have been conducting research, teaching and disseminating information to professionals and to the public, forming a team of talented professionals who work collaboratively to help patients overcome their struggles.
Our ongoing clinical research efforts have contributed extensively to providing current psychological and medical knowledge. Each of our staff members are dedicated to providing scientifically based treatment in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Established in 1979, our outpatient intensive cognitive behavioral treatment program for OCD was the first in the nation.
We work closely with each and every patient, with attention given to the social, biological and psychological factors contributing to their current situation. Patients come to Bio-Behavioral Institute from all over the country (and internationally) to receive the latest treatments available. Today our program serves children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders.
